Preschool Update

After some uncertainty at the end of the year, we were able to keep our extended day preschool program. In addition, the district has also given us a developmental preschool program. Both will be taught by Meredith Fourre with assistants Ian Morgan and Carol Lehman (Carol is a returning Thurgood Marshall team member).

3rd Graders, Put on Your Ballet Slippers!

We are honored to announce that the Pacific Northwest Ballet School’s DanceChance program is coming to Thurgood Marshall this fall. This amazing program is designed to identify 3rd-grade students (with a natural physical talent for classical ballet) who might not otherwise have access to the world of ballet study.

DanceChance begins with fall auditions at school. Students selected are provided full-scholarship ballet classes twice a week for a nine-week introductory session, with the possibility of continued scholarship study. Transportation is provided. Students and their families also receive free tickets to attend PNB performances throughout the year.  Learn more about DanceChance here.

Thurgood Marshall will continue to offer PNB’s DISCOVER DANCE, the in-school residency program that brings movement studies to all our 2nd graders for three weeks in the spring.

Thank you to PNB School for its abundant generosity to the Thurgood Marshall community!
