TM Community Night (was Multicultural Night) @ Cafeteria

This is the second year of Thurgood Marshall Community Night (formerly Multicultural Night).

  • View student projects reflecting family heritage (classrooms will be open.)
  • Potluck: Bring a dish to share that is meaningful to your family.  Please label your dish or bring a small card to list ingredients – especially if it contains common food allergens such as milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, wheat, fish or shellfish.  If you or your child has food allergies, you may want to consider only eating from the dish you bring.
  • Meet old friends or make new ones!
  • Volunteer as little as 30 minutes to help set up, supervise potluck tables or take down.

Tour & info session for prospective students, parents @ Thurgood Marshall ES

Principal Katie May and the Thurgood Marshall PTA in 2018 are pleased to offer four dates for school information sessions and tours (some including observation of classroom activities). Our evening session includes a special presentation on the HCC program.

No RSVP is needed, but you must check in at the Main Office upon arrival. Please email pta@tmlink.org if a family member needs a tour in a language other than English, such as Spanish or Vietnamese.  We will do our best to accommodate you.

The following dates feature an info session with Principal followed by tour led by a parent volunteer. Optional Q&A session at end.

  • Thurs., Jan. 18, 8:35-9:50 a.m. 
  • Thurs., Feb. 15, 8:35-9:50 a.m. 
  • Wed., April 25, 8:35-9:50 a.m. 

Our evening session has a different format.

  • Thurs., Jan. 25, 5-6:30 p.m.
    5-5:45 – Presentation on Highly Capable Cohort (“Accelerated Curriculum Scholars”) and Q&A
    5:45-6:15 – Tour for all programs (no students or teachers will be present in classrooms)
    6:15-6:30 – Optional  Q&A session covering all programs

  • Bingo calling by a local celebrity!
  • Pizza provided; please bring potluck sides/desserts.
