Coffee with Principal Katie May @ TM Library

Join Principal Katie May (or Assistant Principal Sabrina Kovacs-Storlie) for coffee and discussion. (Often a special topic or guest will be featured.)

Come with questions! If you are unable to join us, email Ms. May  your questions at kjmay1@seattleschools.org.

The PTA supplies the coffee, so bring your cup!

Tour & info session for prospective students, parents @ Thurgood Marshall ES

Principal Katie May and the Thurgood Marshall PTA in 2018 are pleased to offer four dates for school information sessions and tours (some including observation of classroom activities). Our evening session tonight includes a special presentation on the Highly Capable Cohort program.

No RSVP is needed, but you must check in at the Main Office upon arrival. Please email pta@tmlink.org if a family member needs a tour in a language other than English, such as Spanish or Vietnamese.  We will do our best to accommodate you.

  • Tonight, Thurs., Jan. 25, 5-6:30 p.m.
    5-5:45 – Presentation on Highly Capable Cohort (“Accelerated Curriculum Scholars”) and Q&A
    5:45-6:15 – Tour for all programs (no students or teachers will be present in classrooms)
    6:15-6:30 – Optional  Q&A session covering all programs

Other dates feature an info session with Principal followed by tour led by a parent volunteer. Optional Q&A session at end.

Student Instrumental Music Concert @ Cafeteria
Jan 25 @ 7:00 pm – 8:15 pm

NEW DATE (was 1/18): Family and friends are encouraged to attend this exciting event and support our student musicians. String students should arrive at 6:30, all other students should arrive at 6:45. Students should wear their best dark clothes.

The Side-by-Side Concert combines the talents of musicians from Washington Middle School and several elementary schools, including more-experienced TM instrumentalists. (Participants will be contacted by TM music teachers.)

Bullpup Dad volunteers will be available to answer your questions about what a day volunteering at school is like.
