Oct. 26 is the deadline for entering the Thurgood Marshall round of this year’s national PTA “Reflections” arts contest.
Students may enter original work in any of six categories: visual art (2D or 3D), photography, literature, music composition, film/video production and dance choreography! An optional “special artist” category is available to students who qualify under ADA regulations. TM’s entries are placed in age divisions: Grades Pre-K-2 or Grades 3-5.
Entries should reflect the 2018-19 theme, “Heroes Around Me.”
Full rules for each category are on the WA State PTA’s Reflections info page. Entries should be brought to the TM Art Room (Room 208), and include this entry form, which requires a short “artist’s statement.”
Questions? Contact the TM PTA’s Reflections coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Winners in this round will advance to a citywide competition, which includes an art show at Seattle Center. There’s a chance to reach the statewide and national rounds! Some recent TM entries have won citywide and statewide recognition. Read about 2017-18 winners.
