New way to teach reading & writing?

The next PTA General Meeting, 6-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, will feature an appetizer potluck and a dive into the world of the school’s new English Language Arts curriculum. FREE child care with pizza dinner will be available (RSVP required).

The schedule:

  • 6-6:30: Potluck snacks & social time!
  • 6:30-8:30:  Learn all about the new English Language Arts curriculum, featuring TM teachers Cat Serpe and Cora Glass, and guest Sandy Teakell, from the District. Also, Principal May will update us on school news, a Seattle Transportation Department staffer will provide details on 23rd Ave.  construction impacts, and more.

Free child care will be provided by the YMCA for children ages 5-12 whose parents are at the meeting. You must RSVP in advance to Cody: cpapka@seattleymca.org. Capacity limited!

Why attend?
PTA General Meetings take place 4-5 times each year, and feature guest speakers as well as updates from Principal May and PTA Board members on curriculum, staffing, budget, teacher-grant requests and other topics.
